ATTORNEY BIOGRAPHY
Carlos G. Abela is a practicing attorney in San Francisco, California, dedicating his practice to personal injury, labor and employment matters, real estate, landlord-tenant disputes, and business/commercial law. Mr. Abela received his undergraduate degree in History from UC Berkeley in 1986, then went on to receive his Juris Doctor from UC Hastings College of the Law in 1993.
Mr. Abela has been practicing law for 14 years in both the public and private sectors, including working as Counsel to the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations for 6 years. While in law school he clerked for the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Legislative Counsel of California. He has volunteered for Volunteer Legal Services of Northern California, the Legal Aid Society of San Francisco, Employment Law Center, the Catholic Charities Immigration Project and the San Francisco Lawyers Committee.
Before becoming a lawyer Mr. Abela worked as an English teacher to recent immigrants, as a computer programmer, in the restaurant industry and in mortgage banking.
